Since 1911 Children's Hospital of Alabama (Children's) has been providing comprehensive health care to Alabama's children. Over the last century, children's has grown from a community hospital into one of the nation's largest pediatric medical centers and today remains the only free-standing acute care pediatric hospital in the state. Each of the literally thousands and hundreds of thousands of children coming through our doors over the years has a unique, moving story to tell relating to their care and treatment at Children's and to his or her own spirit and determination to triumph over illness and injury. Some of these individuals have only recently been treated at Children's and others received care decades ago and have gone on to accomplish great things in their local communities. Each of these special individuals is a Child of Children's.
The Child of Children's campaign is celebrating our patients through the years with a collection of stories which underscores the unique qualities of each Child of Children's and the special place that is Children's Hospital of Alabama. We invite you to share your stories with us and to read the stories of other inspiring individuals to whom it has been our privilege to provide care for almost 100 years.
